ThermoJar system was developed for high precision and in situ monitoring of mechanochemical milling reactions in mixer mills. The system is composed of ThermoJar milling vessel equipped with RTD (Pt-100) thermal sensor and autonomous and wireless infrared emitter built to survive harsh conditions imposed by 30 Hz oscillations in the milling process, logging system and our LogOssoftware for reading and graphical representation of the collected data. The precision of the system is within ±0.03 °C. The electronics in the ThermoJar vessel is powered by a set of three batteries and can survive up to 20 hours of non-interrupted milling with 1 second time resolution.
ThermoJar system suits well to all commercially available mixer mills with transparent screen needed for receiving the emitted infrared signal, but the system is specially adapted to IST500 mill.
